April 20th & 23rd, and May 18th, 2012:
Sensei Lonnie Calhoun provided an eight hour Basic Defensive Tactics course and a four hour recertification course for the Immigration Center Of America (ICA). ICA houses non-violent illegal aliens awaiting deportation outside of the United States.
The training was a component of the orientation and training for newly hired correctional officers. The next scheduled training is a mandatory in-service schedule for June of 2012. One critical area of attention was given to, how to defend against shanks, blades and point weapons. Professors Tony Maynard (American Combat Jujitsu) and Dave Castoldi (Castoldi's Street Smart Self Defense) have equipped Sensei Calhoun with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to defend against these types of attacks.
